Join Digital Trends' web development team and play a role in solving problems, building solutions, designing and building tools and web applications for Wordpress in PHP/MySQL. This position calls for a Wordpress developer who works well on a small, fast-paced team. The Wordpress developer is expected to take a problem statement or requirements set and develop prototypes, systems and solutions in predictable times. The Wordpress developer must be able to rise up to meet a challenge with technical knowledge, creative thinking, open-mindedness and enthusiasm. Someone self-driven to learn, create, refine and share while at the same time having some fun!

Technical Requirements

- 3+ years hands-on experience in Wordpress development, including plug-in and theme development.
- Solid foundation in computer science essence fundamentals, including data structures, programming languages, algorithms, software engineering, database theory and operating systems.
- Intermediate or better skills for software design and development using PHP.
- Demonstrated experience with object oriented software design and development in PHP.
- Knowledge of query design and optimization, preferably in MySQL.
- Some type of experience with source code control procedures and environments like SVN or GIT
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript and a JavaScript Library
- Knowledge of Linux
