We are a very early stage start up (pre-funding) targeting a large, underserved market opportunity in the transportation industry. We are very market driven and are focused on meeting the needs of our target customer segment effectively. The market has been successfully validated by a prior beta to the extent we have strong customer interest for the product. We are currently in the process of assembling a team of professionals that will help take the lessons learnt from the prior beta to develop a compelling market based solution.

So, to build our development team, we are looking for software developers who are willing to work on “equity” only (no salary at this point). The expectation is that this position will become a full-time position once we are funded or have sustainable cash-flow.

Software Developer

This position requires both depth and breadth of technology expertise. You must be highly proficient with current software development technology, tools and practices, particularly in distributed application development on MS Windows platform. In this role, you will help build a core application framework and associated modules. You will also collaborate to create and meet aggressive development schedules and design the necessary components that integrate with the overall system.

Qualifications:

• Education – BS/MS – Computer Science
• Demonstrated experience in industry standard GIS software.
• Knowledge of web based GIS technologies such as Map Point, MapQuest, Google Maps, ESRI software is a plus.
• Experience in fleet management and with associated software’s will be a big plus.
• Experience in server technologies, Windows/Web services, database design and development (Access, MySQL, SQL server).
• Development experience in C/C++, J2EE, .NET (ASP, C#), HTML/XML/CSS, Java-Scripts.
• GPS equipment use (e.g, Trimble) and real-time field data collection experience.
• Experience and knowledge of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of encryption technologies, cellular technology protocols and bus technology protocols will be very helpful.
• Experience with data conversion from GPS to GIS, spatial database development and maintenance
• Ability to be a self-starter, driven to delivering results under trying circumstances, positive attitude, clear communication, good people-person w/interpersonal skills, capable of handling challenging tasks and a consummate problem solver.
