Director of Marketing

JanRain is looking for someone with a passion for all aspects of marketing ranging from product management to promotional marketing.

The ideal candidate has prior success marketing technology solutions especially software as a service, can appreciate an ‘Open Source’ and open standards ecosystem, understands the social media and online identity management space, and values the importance and impact of successful lead generation programs to drive sales pipeline.

JanRain is an early stage growth company with products and services that enable websites to gain significant benefits by embracing third party identity solutions such as OpenID, Facebook Connect, Sign in with Twitter, MySpaceID, and other API-driven solutions. The Director of Marketing will be tasked with shaping the product strategy including requirements, packaging, and pricing, developing and launching effective marketing campaigns to drive leads, leading the PR and brand building activities, capitalizing upon the relationships with channel partners, and coordinating appropriate activities directly with sales and product development.

Responsibilities:
• Drives the definition of product requirements and subsequent pricing and packaging of the products.
• Develops and manages corporate marketing strategies to achieve lead generation goals thru the use of online marketing solutions, referral partnerships, effective public relations activities, and multi-media campaigns.
• Interprets and analyzes market research and uses as catalyst to build marketing plans.
• Monitors execution of marketing programs to measure ROI.
• Ensures adherence to brand strategy messaging and execution through review and approval of creative materials.
• Oversee all 3rd party marketing vendors and applications, and provides scope of work, reviews plans, and assists in day-to-day interaction
• Oversees allocation of media/promo funds to ensure dollars appropriately support key marketing goals and objectives and manages overall marketing P&L.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years previous marketing experience marketing technology solutions on a national level.
• Must have experience with vendors and/or ad agency experience.
• Must have experience with SEM, SEO, Social media marketing, and other online marketing activities to drive leads.
• Branding and creative experience also helpful.
• Must also have experience managing and directing internal staff.
• A Bachelors degree in Marketing or equivalent is required.
• Solid track record of success in meeting and exceeding corporate marketing objectives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including one-on-one communication and group presentations are preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
• High level of energy, efficiency and flexibility
