ClearMechanic allows service centers to provide visual evidence for repair needs and deliver real-time status updates to consumers. Currently, we are raising our first round of external financing, which will permit us to launch ClearMechanic to a national audience of automotive service centers, an $83 billion industry.

ClearMechanic

ClearMechanic is a web-based software platform that improves the car repair process. Three of the top four customer complaints about car repairs stem from poor communication: fear of being sold unnecessary repairs, condescension by mechanics, and interruption of normal life routines. Repairs recommended by service centers are declined up to 75% of the time in part due to car owners' fear and distrust of their repair providers. Yet repairs are crucial for automobile service centers: for example, repairs generated 225% of car dealerships’ net profit in 2008.
